RunClub is a concept app created for a university course, Design for Usability, aimed at helping casual runners discover, join, and organize social running groups. As part of a three-person team, I contributed to a full-cycle UX research and design process, leading visual identity and hi-fi prototyping efforts. The app is designed to balance usability with motivation, connection, and real-world coordination.

Research & Concept

Collaboratively conducted extensive research including:
-
Ecosystem mapping and stakeholder identification
-
In-depth interviews and survey distribution
-
Competitive analysis of existing fitness apps
-
Contextual inquiry (observing users in natural environments)
Key insights were clustered using affinity mapping to identify core user needs: ease of scheduling, social motivation, and barrier-free onboarding.
User Flow and Lo-Fi Prototyping
Mapped the full user flow from sign-up through joining or creating a run. Developed low-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes. Peer-tested designs in class, integrating feedback to reduce friction and simplify task sequences.
Visual Design and Branding
Designed the app’s logo, developed a clean and energetic color palette, and defined the typographic system. Visuals were designed to feel motivating but non-intimidating—balancing fitness cues with community tone.
Hi-Fi Prototyping
Produced high-fidelity mockups to visualize the final user experience. Screens included home dashboard, run join/creation flow, group messaging interface, and basic progress tracking. All UI elements were built to support clarity and mobile usability.
